Education Curriculum

In addition to robust inpatient training, the Trinity Health Ann Arbor Critical Care Fellowship emphasizes a comprehensive educational curriculum and meaningful scholarly opportunities. The program is intentionally designed to provide fellows with a broad, multidisciplinary learning experience that supports both clinical excellence and professional development.

The curriculum features structured didactic sessions, Journal Club, Grand Rounds, case presentations, Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) conferences, and a variety of institutional and regional conferences. Dedicated research rotations allow fellows protected time to engage in scholarly activity, quality improvement initiatives, and research under experienced mentorship.

At the start of the academic year, fellows are invited to participate in a hands-on simulation training and lecture at the Henry Ford Simulation Center, providing advanced procedural and team-based learning experiences. National conference participation is strongly encouraged and funding provided, with opportunities to attend the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) Congress during the first year and the CHEST Annual Meeting during the second year.

Fellows receive yearly educational subscriptions to key resources, including CHEST SEEK, SCCM Journal, NEJM, and board review materials during their second year. Membership to CHEST is also provided, further supporting fellows’ ongoing education, networking, and professional growth.
