Program Director

Welcome to the Trinity Health Oakland Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program Website. We are an ACGME-ACCREDITED PROGRAM approved for 16 positions and accepting four residents per year. The training is based at Trinity Health Oakland Medical Center, a 497-bed teaching hospital located in Pontiac Michigan, and other locations affiliated with Michigan State University, Detroit Medical Center, and Trinity Health Livonia. Trinity Oakland is part of the Trinity Health System, with hospitals throughout Michigan, and is a level II trauma center and Level III Neonatal intensive care unit. The medical center hosts multiple residency and fellowship training programs.

Clinical experience for our residents, derives from the high-volume obstetrical unit which is a recognized best hospital for maternity care as well as a designated obstetrical emergency unity; Core Faculty providing subspecialty services in maternal fetal medicine, oncology, urogynecology, advanced minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and reproductive endocrinology; and obstetrical and gynecologic surgical training with affiliated practices. The Academic clinic is physically attached to Trinity Oakland and provides each resident with a continuity clinic and a personal panel of patients beginning in PGY-1 through the completion of training. The robust didactic program includes protected time for multi-disciplinary rounds, Simulations including credentialing in essentials of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and learning with regional partners Southeast Michigan Center for Medical Education (https://semcme.org/) and the Graduate Medical Education Alliance affiliated with Michigan State University https://gmealliance.msu.edu
